Why does Israel need another Incubator / Accelerator? When we see what they are all “incubating” today, strangely enough, they all seem to have the same looking projects and have teams in place who served in the most elite branches of technology and intelligent army service.
Israel has a vibrant startup culture and significant amounts of foreign direct investments in its burgeoning startups, today most of the capital is aimed at middle-stage companies that have already made initial revenue or are in revenue-growth stage.
However, new early startups are slated to receive just 5 to 10 percent of the total startup funding. As a result, these early-stage startup companies are competing over limited funding resources. Companies in the very early stage (e.g. initial visionary concept) may never get off the ground due to their inability to raise seed capital.
Clearly, a startup company with an existing structure, a marketable product, and initial revenue is a lower-risk proposition than an early stage or very early-stage prospect, but by the same token, these middle-stage entities will have higher valuations and proportionately lower returns. Early stage- or very-early-stage prospects will, of course, entail higher risk but will have commensurately lower valuations and higher returns on investment, assuming successful exits.
Our strategy is to identify seed fund opportunities with promising intellectual property (IP) potential, marketable product/service concepts, but in need of help and funding to proceed toward a more polished entity with considerably higher value. Our team of managers, therefore, will be vetting IP potential based on years of IP experience; and helping fledgling entrepreneurs with potentially valuable concepts to create the appropriate structure to move forward, successfully.
Strategically, we will take some distinctive and contrarian steps. Rather than setting up shop in Tel Aviv or Herzliya, where venture capitalists battling over middle and later stage startups tend to aggregate, our offices are in the North and on the southern coast. In addition to lower costs of operation, the location in Ashdod is close to where the most advanced road systems are being installed.
Our strategy is to make connections with next-generation entrepreneurs when their ideas are still conceptual, but very promising. From us, they will learn more about the steps they must take, and in return, we will have a first shot at funding opportunities while still conceptual and stealthy. As such, our primary marketing will be aimed at very-early-stage opportunities.
Another distinction is our expertise in IP. Often, the most valuable asset an early-stage entity has is IP, but that depends upon its success at filing and receiving a patent or trademark. Our management has years of experience helping inventors develop patentable inventions. That can quickly increase an entity’s valuation even if the development and operations are still primordial.
Our priority of interests is in our Economy as it is more Driven than ever and needs more focused solutions on where the Environment’s needs are a Necessity.
Today’s visionaries are invited to come to the EDEN IA Incubator / Accelerator.
The team’s first objective is to identify the potential novelties that each presented and selected project might have. When our team is successful in doing so, we work together with the visionary to file a US patent and PCT, to secure the vision and take it to the next level. We will find the right implementation team, to establish the executive and operational structures. We will provide business, legal, marketing, and IP support with the goal of molding them into entities that funds focused on later stage investment would want to acquire.
A successful venture starts with a visionary who understands the value of a team and the importance of its strong management roots, that all lead to successful growth.
